The albas Reis Glorios and Tagelied both portray the invasion of the lovers’ enclosed space by the exposing light of day. This set from A Midsummer Night’s Dream illustrates how I imagine this space – as an escape from daylight and an entryway into a dream-like realm where love clouds their judgement.Reis Glorios also depicts the watchman's difficulties in rousing his friend in time to escape the exposing daylight, so I've attached a gif that approximates (in a much more comical context) his struggles to convince his friend to leave the arms of "the fairest lady ever born" and get out of bed.
